Job Description
Regenerative Scientist, Research and Development
Our client, a successful and fast growing market leader, has a new opening within new technology development for a research scientist. We are looking for a scientist who has research experience in one of the following: regenerative tissue medicine specifically with expertise in cell cultures, this could include in-vitro diagnostics, assay development or tissue engineering.
The Research Scientist will be responsible for the molecular, cell biology and biochemistry laboratory support of research focused on regenerative medicine. The candidate will be engaged in data generation and analysis of exploratory research for the platform.
Daily Duties include:
1. Perform early stage research.
2. Perform an in depth review of the regenerative, cellular development and qualification of analytical methods, and application of scientific methods.
3. Experience with cellular functions and model systems
4. Proficient at handling nucleic acids and cloning.
5. Skilled at using chromatography/separation techniques, Western Blots, immunohistology and immunofluorescence techniques, flow cytometry, ELISA, Multiplex array, and PCR.
6. Perform basic biochemical analytical techniques.
7. Analytical abilities to evaluate data leveraging strong statistical data analysis skills.
8. Preparation of technical reports and quantitative analysis
9. Evaluate and recommend novel technologies to enhance research capabilities
10. Strong problem solving skills
11. Contribute to the scientific community in the form of peer-reviewed publications, presentations, patents, and lectures.
12. Translate data into proposals of effective clinical treatments from cell biology studies
14. Preparation of patent disclosures
Education required/ preferred:
Degrees in cell biology, biomedical engineering, biomaterials or similar preferred.
BS Plus a minimum of 4 years experience required.
MS plus a minimum of 1 years experience working in a Cell or biochemistry laboratory. PhDs not acceptable for this level of position.
Experience:
Prefer academic research experience and/or industrial research experience. Technical fields of interest include basic molecular/cellular biology and basic biochemistry. Physiology background is a plus.
Experience medical devices is a plus.
