Job Description
PROJECT MANAGER

This position requires medical device experience.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations in the R&D project team, this project manager is more operations, scheduling, planning, administration and data management than technical design or engineering. You will work closely with design engineers and so a strong understanding of product development or engineering is preferred, but not required.


1. Work with the Project Leader and Team Members to develop and maintain the Master Project Plan.
2. Ensure projects remain aligned with the project plan by anticipating and addressing any resource conflicts and addressing low level problems as they emerge.
3. Ensure that the Project Design History File is current and accurate and manage documentation and communication needs for the project, ensuring all regulatory standards are met.
4. Support Core Team meetings by preparing the agenda, project updates, taking meeting minutes.
5. Support Product Development Team Meetings by developing current and accurate project data and Stage Gate criteria. Update Risk Management plan and Issue Tracker.
6. Manage the Project Lessons Learned process by identifying improvements to existing project management processes, systems and tools.
7. Continuously develop knowledge and skills by attending internal/external training, conferences and researching industry practices.
8. Manage issues and risks by monitoring known risks and preparing mitigation plans for each of these risks.




This position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of large, complex product development projects.
Up to 25% travel.

Requirements:
BA/BS Science, Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration preferred. AS Science minimal with many years of similar project management work experience within new product development projects, not IT/Software.
Experience: Five or more years of relevant experience which includes five years experience in a project management position of which three years includes experience in the product development process WITHIN the MEDICAL DEVICES industry.

Preferred:
Project management skills.
PMP certification
Effective planning and organization skills including the proven ability to work against multiple objectives simultaneously.
Prepare audience specific reports and communications.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products including MS Outlook and Project.

Certified Associate in Project Management or Project Management Professional (PMI Certification) within 12 months of entering position.
